🗓️ Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
October 15 – December 7
Each year, you have the opportunity to review your Medicare coverage and make changes for the upcoming year. During this period, you can:
• Switch from Original Medicare to a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) or vice versa
• Change from one Medicare Advantage plan to another
• Enroll in, change, or drop a Part D Prescription Drug Plan
Even if you’re happy with your current plan, it’s important to review it each year. Premiums, copays, provider networks, and medication coverage can change annually — and so can your own health needs.

🩺 Understanding Your Florida Medicare Options
Original Medicare (Parts A & B)
Original Medicare is managed by the federal government and covers:
• Part A (Hospital Insurance): inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing, hospice, and limited home health care
• Part B (Medical Insurance): doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment
While Original Medicare covers many healthcare expenses, it does not include prescription drugs, dental, vision, or hearing coverage — and there’s no out-of-pocket limit.
Medigap (Medicare Supplement)
Medigap plans are designed to fill the “gaps” in Original Medicare by covering costs like deductibles, coinsurance, and copays.
These standardized plans (Plan G, Plan N, etc.) let you visit any doctor or hospital nationwide that accepts Medicare.
If you prefer the flexibility of no networks and predictable out-of-pocket costs, a Medigap plan may be a strong fit.
Medicare Advantage (Part C)
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. These plans combine your Part A and Part B coverage and often include:
• Prescription drug coverage (Part D)
• Additional benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, transportation, and wellness programs
Many Floridians choose Medicare Advantage for the convenience of all-in-one coverage and capped out-of-pocket costs. Availability and benefits vary by ZIP code and carrier, so reviewing options annually is key.
Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)
Part D plans help cover the cost of prescription medications. If you’re looking for a prescription drug plan, let us help you.
Each plan has its own formulary (list of covered drugs), pharmacy network, and tiers that determine copay levels.
Review your plan each year to make sure your medications remain covered at the lowest cost.
